What is happening in Al Ain right now?...

The Jr. World Cup!

(Here I am on the Hiltons steps with the French team, Olympique Marseille)

The Al Qattara stadium, here in Al Ain, is hosting the International Under-17 Football Championship. This championship includes teams from famous clubs. The teams include:

Spain - Espanyol
Spain - Valencia
French - Olympique Marseille
Egypt - Al Ahli
Morocco - Raja Casablanca
Morocco - African Stars
UAE - National team
UAE - Al Ain

Between January 15th and 25th, the eight teams will play a Round Robin of 22 matches. The winners will take home $20,000 as well as the gold medal and winners' cup. There are other cash prizes for the 2nd place, 3rd place, best player, best scorer, best goalkeeper, and ideal team.

Richard and I are planning on attending at least one of these matches. We love this game!
